University in the next era

Coming to the last quarter of 2020, by now we have realised things have changed in the World. Shops are going online now, not a way of adapting but a way of necessity now because many shops are closed during the pandemic. Universities have altered the way they present information to their students. Through webinars and tasks set to them from a laptop, without the human interaction with their teacher. Students can't say now, 'This assignment is troubling me, I need a one-one session with my tutor'. I guess it's still possible, just have a zoom conversation with your teacher, but it's not the same, as going through papers and talking about things side by side. The human touch is not there.

Many students today, would drop out of university because of realising how pointless it is, to begin with, especially when one is not interested in their subject and has an inclination to branch out. When students remain at university, it is a given that they will simply follow their course to the end and get a job in that related field. 

Big tech companies have got their eyes on universities, will companies like amazon, bridge the gap between a student to employee quicker? Is the case of Apple making a university, that you will not sell apple products but learn techniques to help Apple in the future? These are assumptions of potential students wanting to bring value to 'their' beloved company. Amazon bought an e-learning company and is looking to revamp the learning faculties in kindle, it is happening. Many students will begin to resort to e-learning, this shift will move quicker and quicker as the years go on.

During this pandemic, many students have time to think, time to evaluate whilst not partying, what life has in store for them, and would ask questions to themselves about what would life look like on their terms. As the new era comes, we will see a shift in more people driving towards, self-actualisation and entrepreneurship.

Many people will begin to wander and travel a road less traveled...
